Senior Architect responsible for designing, developing, and implementing application infrastructure to provide highly-complex, reliable, and scalable applications and systems to meet the organization's objectives and requirements.

Complete Description:

The selected candidate will participate in a variety of projects, studies and initiatives. Project scopes, timelines will vary between assignments. All activities will be supervised by PennDOT’s IT Architect Manager or designee.

Services to be provided by this individual are to include, but are not limited to:

• Participating in studies, initiatives and projects in order to understand their IT Infrastructure requirements, estimate costs and design the IT Infrastructure to support the development, testing and implementation of the application.

• Work with multiply divisions in the Bureau of Infrastructure and Operations to align in supporting new initiatives from all Depurates outlined within PennDOT’s IT Portfolio.

• Work closely with the Bureau of Business Solutions and Services(BBSS) and business owners to understand and develop business / functional requirements and corresponding technical solutions

• Analyze, research and design highly visible IT Infrastructure Architecture solutions and services for all Depurates including their business partners and solutions and services needs for interfacing with other State and Federal agencies.

• Analyze business and application requirements in order to evaluate and design the most cost effective and technological efficient infrastructure in order to support the various projects involving IT.

• IT Infrastructure technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from the strategic decision making down to the tactical project implementation.

• Conduct research on emerging IT Technologies that will increase cost effective and infrastructure flexibility.

• Provide IT architecture consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to System Analysts, System Engineers, and other IT Architects.

• Develop, document, and communicate technology standards.

• Review existing PennDOT IT Technologies in order to generate recommendations of how to reduce cost along with suggestions to improve the IT infrastructure flexibility.

• Work independently and with other IT service providers in independent research, infrastructure design and development.

• Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities
