Location: Baltimore, MD area. Woodlawn section of Baltimore county--about 15 to 20 minutes outside Baltimore city.  

Interview: Phone first/Skype and will require face to face. Prefer candidates in the mid-Atlantic region.

Duration: These are long term Federal government contracts and can go as long as the contract with SSA. Federal contracts are usually seven years. 

Note:  Minimum experience and education: Candidates with a BS degree must have the minimum of  11 years or 132 months of work experience specific to the job description.  

If a candidate has a Master’s degree, they still need a minimum of 11 years or 132 months of work experience but only nine years or 108 months of experience specific to the job.  The other work experience to meet the 132 months does not have to be IT related. 

Work experience while in college can be counted toward the overall years.

If no degree, work experience may be substituted.

Background clearance: All candidates selected will have to go through a Federal government background check prior to being able to start.  

Generally, the background process takes between 3,4 or 5 weeks. The time is dependent on how quickly the candidate is able to complete the paperwork.

Candidates will obtain a Public Trust clearance upon approval.

Description:

Seeking qualified candidates for a Mainframe Developer in Baltimore, MD.

This work effort involves providing COBOL DB2, CA Fileaid/RDX and JCL development to support legacy data migration into Mainframe DB2 databases running on Z/OS. The resource will be responsible for development conforming to customer standards and requirements and will be involved in the unit testing and validation against desired outcomes. The resource is expected to function as part of a team, which includes customers and must demonstrate sufficient communication skills to ensure success.
 
Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

 ·Advanced CA File Aid / RDX experience.

Prior experience in mainframe COBOL and JCL application development experience.

· Experience with COBOL, CA File Aid/RDX , JCL Error handling and Debugging.

· General CICS knowledge (Highly Desired).

Experience with  DB2 load and unload utilities knowledge.

 · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 · Must be team player and get along well with others.

 · Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.

Desired Skills:

· General XPEDITER knowledge.

 · General Endeavor knowledge.

Education:  Bachelor degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience with 11 years of professional experience.
