Cobol/IDMS Developer - IT

About Web is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Cobol/IDMS Developer in Baltimore, MD.

This work effort involves providing COBOL development to support legacy retirement of IDMS systems into Mainframe DB2 databases running on Z/OS. The resource will be responsible for IDMS database administration and development. The resource will be responsible for development conforming to customer standards and requirements and will be involved in the unit testing and validation against desired outcomes. The resource is expected to function as part of a team, which includes customers and must demonstrate sufficient communication skills to ensure success.
 
Skills Requirements:

Required Skills:

· Advanced experience of IDMS database administration and development.

· Advanced experience in mainframe COBOL and JCL application development, to include SQL Error handling and Debugging, in a Z/OS environment accessing DB2 databases.

· General DB2 load and unload utilities knowledge.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be team player and get along well with others

· Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.

Desired Skills:

· General CICS knowledge (Highly Desired).

· General XPEDITER knowledge.

· General Endevor knowledge.
 
Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience with 11 years of technical experience or Master degree with 9 years of technical experience.
