Oracle PL/SQL Developer

The desired candidate will fill in the position of a PL/SQL developer for supporting Loans Data Warehouse. This position's primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain PL/SQL code – procedure, functions, and packages to transform the source data based on business rules and load them in to target tables in the warehouse.

Essential Job Functions:
• Other responsibilities would include query analysis & optimization and maintain the data models for the data warehouse.
• Conducting detailed discussion with the SMEs and documenting the understanding of the business requirements.
• Develop Oracle procedure, packages, functions based on the business requirements and rules and schedule them as required.
• Support data requests from business users through data analysis and/or by developing ad-hoc queries.
• Troubleshoot performance related issues
• Support system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution.
• Research problems reported by clients and other stakeholders and recommend fixes and solutions to be implemented after review by SMEs.
• Complete technical documentation to ensure system is fully documented.
• Share best practices and lessons learnt from past implementation efforts.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• 5 + years of experience in Oracle development environment with following core skill set.
• Strong PL SQL programming experience in Oracle 11g – creating procedure, packages, functions and triggers.
• Demonstrate a good command of data modeling concepts and methodologies (Kimball) used in a data warehousing environment.
• Strong experience in development of Data Warehouse, Operational Data Store and ETL solutions.
• Experience with data storage and retrieval.
• Experience in SQL analysis and query optimization.
• Experience with Job Scheduling.
• Experience with Shell Scripting.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Very good interpersonal communication and written skills, with the ability to work in challenging environment.

Desired Skills/Abilities (not mandatory but a plus)
• Oracle Certification.
• Experience in developing reports/dashboards using SAP Business Objects and/or other BI/Visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Exposure to Data Services Technology/tools such as Composite.
• Experience in maintaining data models using Erwin.
• Familiarity in Database administration activities – space management; Managing schema objects – Indexes, Materialized views, partitions ; Database Maintenance – Optimizer stats, rebuilding indexes, partition maintenance, data purging, table analysis; Data loading – using SQL loader.
• Experience/exposure in Informatica ETL development.
