JOB DESCRIPTION:

16+ years of experience.  Coordinates IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management.

Work with the PMO team to establish a Project Management Office (PMO) Charter. Include goals and objectives, mission statement, and value statement (with measures).

 

Update the Enterprise Architecture Roadmap to align with final requirements.

 

Work with the PMO team to establish a project management governance structure that includes key performance indicators and sets milestones for the project team.

 

Create a high-level schedule assuming Agile hybrid approach. Track project in a three-step cycle, to include:

1.         Collecting Program Status Information, an update cycle of work plans, issues and changes, collected from project leads at routine intervals, usually every two weeks;

2.         Consolidation and analysis of the data collected from program status information, comparing results with baseline and communicating status to the management for review;

3.         Implementing Corrective Action, if required, as decided by the management through the process of change management.

 

Coordinate with program managers who have operational responsibility for the DES and other agency IT staff as needed.

 

Identify and manage risks.

 

Oversee project issue resolution.  Apart from defining, maintaining, and managing the project processes, the roles and responsibilities include providing support for the smooth execution of the project.  This includes ensuring the following:

•           Provide a centralized customer focused office that not only plan, negotiate and analyze projects, but also redress the project related concerns of the client, sponsor, and staff;

•           Ensure implementation and maintenance of the project methodology and retain the team members’ focus on the tasks in hand;

•           Provide in-house consultancy services to the project team on project related issues.

 

Be responsible for keeping DSLBD informed of bi-weekly progress in the form of a bi-weekly status report that also includes notification of any major issues facing the project and any outstanding decisions that are under consideration by the project team.

 

Provide direct communications and status reports to the DSLBD Chief of Staff and DSLBD Applications Project Lead on a bi-weekly basis.

 

Responsibilities:

8. Troubleshoots problems.

9. Ensures project life-cycle is in compliance with District standards and procedures.

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
