VDH is looking for a Data Warehouse Developer/Analyst with heavy Oracle and reporting background to create analytical reports and convert existing reports from COGNOS to LOGIXML.

Data Warehouse Architect           

Years of Experience:

4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

WORKS AS PART OF THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, OFFICE OF INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (VDH) DATA WAREHOUSE TEAM TO PROVIDE DEVELOPMENT, SYSTEM ANALYSIS, TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND PEER TROUBLESHOOTING ASSISTANCE TO HELP IMPROVE VDH DECISION MAKING, OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE, AND ACHIEVE REPORTING REQUIREMENTS.

SPECIFIC TASK(S):

•             REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

•             COGNOS TO LOGIXML REPORTS CONVERSION.

Knowledge of data warehouse end-to-end implementation processes, from business requirement logical modeling, physical database design, ETL, end-user tools, database, SQL, performance tuning. Demonstrated problem resolution skills with team of persons, and strong leadership with implementation team Experience in data warehouse design and data modeling (both relational and dimensional) and development and maintenance of multi-dimensional data models. Development experience in implementation of data warehousing utilizing Oracle and/or SQL SERVER. Understanding of data warehouse Metadata concepts, tools and different data warehouse methodologies. Expertise in SQL and proficiency in database tuning techniques.

High proficiency and experience in ETL, metadata, data profiling software, database platform, performance monitoring, reporting and analytic tools. Very strong written and oral communication skills.

Skills:

DEVELOPMENT IN AN ORACLE 11G DATABASE OBJECTS INCLUDING TABLES, INDEXES, VIEWS, PROCEDURES, AND FUNCTIONS TO SUPPORT REPORTING REQUIREMENTS;

EXPERIENCE WITH EXTRACT, TRANSFORM, LOAD (ETL) SYSTEMS USING ORACLE SQL LOADER AND PL/SQL

DATA RETRIEVAL AND ANALYSIS USING ADVANCED PL/SQL TECHNIQUES

STRONG DEVELOPMENT SKILLS IN AT LEAST ONE REPORT DEPLOYMENT SOLUTION (I.E., COGNOS, LOGIXML, CRYSTAL REPORTS OR REPORTING SERVICES)
