This person will have worked with Big Data technologies, monitoring, Scheduling, performance optimization or Big data jobs.  Performance optimization for Big data. 

Must have experience running/managing big data batch jobs - preferably using SCOPE/U-SQL

Prefer to have experience in data visualization/website and SQL database

Prefer Azure experience and/or related technologies

AI & Research Mgt / IPG Mgt – Speech Services

Our team is currently working on front end of Cortana and Skype Translator.  Any Speech translator (Speech to Text, or Text to Speech). We host the service and monitor the system.  This role is related to processing the big data related to the

Role is based on backfilling.  Our current vendor sits in Seattle, and we need to fill the role locally to have resource sit onsite in Sunnydale, CA.

Targeting 4/3/2017 to start and end date is targeted for 12/31/2017. Initial PO will be created for 6/30/2017 as end date for FY purposes.

Typical day – The resource will review our standard daily data processing jobs and review and debug the fails.  What are the issues and why’s.  We process a lot of big data processing and ensure they are ran every day with no issues.  Shows in Web Portal so they will need to review and ensure the daily Web Portal is posted properly.

Interaction with sponsor and team will be – daily and reporting daily to the sponsor.  Our team meets every day or every day.  The resource will post their work items to sponsor and another PM in team.  Our team is relatively new and still learning each other.  Vendor needs to be able to ramp-up and work independently.  Need to work with little to no direction once ramped up.  Ramp-up time would be 3-4 days or 1-2 weeks if they have the right background for role.

Our team works in Sunnyvale, CA and the office is very open and collaborative. 

The office is very open and forward thinking.  We have offices, ping pong tables, very open and fun environment. 

We can offer some flexibility in schedules and work from home option as needed and based on individual needs/schedules.  Candidate needs to be local and be willing to work in office more than remote, but we are a very reasonable and flexible team overall.

While they are learning and ramping up, need to be onsite every day during our core-hours (8-5pm PST)

Planning on extension for FY18 until at least 12/31/2017 for now

Targeting at least 4+ years of overall experience. 

MSFT experience would be nice to have, but not 100% required.  If they have MSFT experience and all other required skills, it would make them a BEST/Top candidate.  Having experience in data visualization/website and SQL database is HIGHLY preferred.

Degree in Technical/Engineering/IT field is required for this role, Masters degree desirable.
