- Tasked with analyzing, developing and deploying a solution to patch and update over 150 legacy standalone (non-networked) computers from NASA United Space Alliance (USA) contract throughout Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and Patrick Air Force Base, in order to meet and exceed NASA IT security guidelines.
- Developed a system to document and image each system, making sure to meet NASA Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) requirements in updating and documenting each system.
- Converted the images into VMware virtual machines.
- Patched the virtual operating systems and software through use of WSUS Offline Update tool, and LocalGPO group policy applicator, as well as manually updating system software (including Symantec Endpoint Protection, Adobe, and Java products).
- Repackaged the updated virtual systems into images, redeploying the updated images to the source computers.
- Ran offline MacAfee Foundstone security scans, CIS CAT (Configuration Assessment Tool) and Dell KACE inventory scans on resultant systems, to verify NASA IT Security guidelines are met.
