MPDB was a mainframe application which took care of passing data between systems through IDMS database. The system had proved costly in terms of maintenance and had frequent outages. The client required to replace the MPDB system with MQ based on previous consistent performance of the MQ based interfaces.
The initial Proof of Concept for three different types of interfaces which involved CICS programs, IDMS programs and batch programs was done and based on approval a total of 13 MPDBs interfaces were converted to MQ interfaces.
