Project 2
Project Title: Audio Quality Analysis using PEAQ.
Project Description: PEAQ Analysis is used forMp3, AAC, PCM, ADPCM, MIDI, and XMF. ITU recommends PEAQ an algorithm for objective measurement of the perceived audio quality of the device under test. PEAQ gives out a number between -4 and 0 called Objective Difference Grade (ODG), -4 are highly annoying and 0 is imperceptible impairment. Pops, clicks, noise in test audio, audio path might have caused a channel swap. Reference Generator makes reference audio compatible with signal under test.
Responsibilities:
- Involved in Audio quality automation testing using perl.
- Maintaining PERL automation scripts to be used for testing CMX/Audio functionality using ASIA (Automated Scripting Interface for ASICs) framework. Debugging automation runs and helping the team to maintain the existing scripts with changing requirements, new feature automation development
Project 3
Project Title: Incall MP3/QEnsemble/Qconcert
Project Description: The In Call MP3 firmware provides MP3, AAC, CMX playback functionality during a voice call. Play MP3 music during vocoder conversation this is a concurrency requirement on Qualcomm chips to start. When user is playing MP3 music, and a voice call comes, the Processor needs to keep the MP3 playback state, mute the playback, down load the combined image, hard switch the codec to 48 KHz, start voice conversation and resume MP3 playback and Fast forward/Rewind/pause of MP3 music is supported in the concurrency. QEnsemble and QConcertPlus feature developed for CDMA and UMTS OEM handsets. QConcertPlus is a set of algorithms that enhance stereo listening experience over headphones or speakers. In general, an expanded stereo sound image is expected after applying QConcertPlus. Subjective criterions are provided as reference to pass or fail the tests. Test for headphone mode and speaker mode are described separately.
Responsibilities:
- Leading andperforming Incall Mp3, AAC, CMX and QEnsemble/Qconcert testing across all the cdma and umts chipset, Test the MP3 playback functionality during a voice call conversion and resume MP3 playback and ff/rew/pause of MP3 music is supported in the concurrency.
Project 4
Project Title: QAudioFX/3D graphics
Project Description: QAudioFX is Qualcomm’s 3D positional sound solution .QAudioFX post processing feature is used for positioning a mono audio object in virtual 3D space. This is done by applying panning, delays and a set of HRTF (Head Related Transfer Function) filters to mono source. The QAudioFX functionality is applied to only mono source. In game Audio architecture, where we have up to four decoders running simultaneously, this functionality is applied to each decoder separately. In addition to positioning sounds in a three-dimensional space, QAudioFX also includes other audio effects of interest to game developers: like Single object positional sound, Doppler effects, Environment reverberation, Roll-off.
Responsibilities:
- Leading andperforming QAudioFX and 3Dgraphics testing with audio preset. While Testing the QAudioFX and Comparing the Graphics Color with reference Images.
Project 5
Project Title : Audio/CMX
Project Description: Qualcomm CMX™ (Compact Media eXtension) software provides support for applications requiring time synchronized multimedia outputs of MIDI based music, text, graphics, animation and voice. CMX software uses a MIDI-based coordination scheme to synchronize the multimedia outputs which- as a specially formatted file structure containing MIDI music instructions interleaved with text, audio, graphics and animated data the CMX software will read as input. A proprietary “dispatcher” function within the CMX software package then segments the interleaved multimedia input data into separate data streams for each kind of media. These segmented data streams are then routed (dispatched) to their appropriate decoder/controller module for synchronized playback on the stereo headset, handset and speaker.
Responsibilities:
- Involved in Subjective listening and automation testing using Perl and functionality testing like stop/play, FF/REW, pause, previous clip, next clip, spectrum analyzer, and equalizer.
- Maintaining PERL automation scripts to be used for testing CMX/Audio functionality using ASIA (Automated Scripting Interface for ASICs) framework. Debugging automation runs and helping the team to maintain the existing scripts with changing requirements, new feature automation development etc
