Business Analyst

Description: A key concept of this initiative is to drive vendor specific information across three external vendors who service Student Loans on behalf of Confidential . For comparative analytics purposes, however, the Basel II data elements needed to be consistent across all vendors. The decision was reached by the Basel team to “normalize” data elements that were “inconsistent” among the vendors due to their very different operating models and consistent definitions and values when that data was used within the Basel models. The normalized data understanding and buy-in from the Student Lending Line of Business is key to maintaining proper governance to ensure data integrity on behalf of both Basel and the Line of Business (LOB). The Basel II defined data elements will be stored in ECRIS-Retail data warehouse (Enterprise Credit Risk) will also be used in other LOB and Regulatory reporting and analytics. These Basel data elements will also be used in the Retail Credit Risk Model and will drive the capital allocations for the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Attended the knowledge acquisition sessions presented by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the purpose of better understanding Student Lending process.

Lead weekly conference calls with the vendors to address any issues/timelines/concerns.

Documented system scope and objectives in form of High Level Design documents (HLD) and Small Project Documents (SPDs).
