- The overall processing occurred in four layers. An Internet browser is used as a front end to handle the presentation of information. A Middleware Java based Sun Solaris Server layer managed objects. A Middleware Sentry Server CICS/RS60000 layer coordinates requests for mainframe APIs. Sentry provided the routing mechanism to send Sentry APIs to multiple mainframe domains based on routing priorities and rules. CICS programs are used to access the underlying corporate DB2 databases. All the business logic lied on the Back End Architecture.
