  • All the applications were web services and were scripted in LoadRunner. During performance test execution, the application JVMs which were on Tomcat servers (Store-Side and AOL) was monitored using in-house JVM monitoring tool, GridStats.
  • Following were the performance test execution details:
  • During the test execution, the AOL web service application had high response time. This was due to database and application QP servers being located in different locations whereas the production servers were at same location. The database and application servers for QP were placed at same location and the response time looked good.
  • The Vendor Side application for GE had high response time and CPU utilization was 80% during test execution. The production server count was increased and re-tested. The response time was reduced from 2 minutes to few seconds and the CPU utilization was reduced from 80% to 30%.
  • All the applications were stress tested. The applications were able to handle 4 to 5 times that of usual production load.
