- Accountable for the overall quality of components produced by vendors worldwide; as Lead Auditor and Quality Engineer, ensure exacting company specifications and quality standard compliance. Effectively interact with vendors regarding continuous process improvements, develop new procedures and guidelines, source and bring new vendors on line as needed. Assist R & D and Engineering in new product testing and development; assist suppliers with supplier deviation and corrective action requests. Serve as Metallurgist within foundries to develop new formulas and casting techniques. These include introducing the Charpy specifications to ductile iron in many U.S. Foundries.
- Project Manager for a new gearbox assembly house: This also entailed tooling set-up, gearbox assembly, and assemblers and painters. Provided Gear Failure Analysis off-site and at main gearbox manufacturing site. Participated in extensive Micro-pitting study at the NREL testing site, and helped develop the new gear tooth processing procedure to minimize micro-pitting. Built prototypes for 550kw, 750kw and 1.5MW models. (1200+ MW installed)
