Responsibilities:
- As a consultant to the Bur eau of Workers’ Compensation for the State of Ohio:
- Responsible for analysis as well as mapping updates for the Core system replacement project.
- This $200 million project replaced the Confidential Policy and Claims processing systems with a packaged software solution, Confidential, from Confidential Corporation. The EDI system will continue to use Sterling Gentran Basic, V6.6 on a mainframe platform.
- My team and I are responsible for all mapping updates to accommodate new software interfaces. All EDI maps relating to the Claims and Policy systems are being updated to reflect the new fields implemented as part of the Core system replacement. All interfacing between Confidential and the mainframe is being done through FTP clients and intermediate servers where necessary.
- The EDI team is also responsible for unit testing and integration testing of all claims interfaces related to the Core system replacement and creation/validation of input and output files and data relating to the claims processing system.
- We are also responsible for coding all new specialty programs in COBOL to manipulate the files and data as required per the specifications in preparation for mapping and or further processing. Duties also include
