SUMMARY:
- I am interested in applying for the design position that is currently available. I have over 30 years of mechanical design experience. Most recently I was employed by Confidential / Data Sciences Int. for almost four years.
- They are a medical device company that manufactures implantable diagnostic devices. Unfortunately I was laid off because of the economy and declining sales. I used SolidWorks as my design software. Before that I was at two
- Confidential and Confidential companies for four years, ALZA which was engineering a drug delivery system and Confidential which was developing two new diabetes monitoring systems. The previous 12 years I was employed by the worlds largest medical device maker, Confidential . The 16 years before SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer was my design tool. While at Confidential, I excelled in plastic injection molding design as well as sheet metal use and high tolerance machined parts. The prior 13 years were in E./M Packaging for military applications. I have been lead designer on several high profile projects at all my job positions, where I had to be extremely focused, innovative and creative. I have taken design concepts from early stages and followed them through the development cycle employing analytical problem solving solutions. I believe I have all the necessary qualifications to do this job and contribute to this company immediately. I have attended several implants at various clinics and have met many time with surgeons and cardiologists to gather information to aid in better product design.
- In the past twenty (20) years I have used SolidWorks and Pro/E to do my design and solid modeling.
- I've interfaced with manufacturing and outside vendors to maintain the highest standard in customer focused quality. My past job experiences make me very aware of FDA regulations and requirements and Military Standards and Specifications, which have many similarities.
- I have an exceptional work ethic. I never miss work and am very self motivated. I am very creative and very team oriented. I have great communication skills and go to my peers for input. I am extremely focused and pay very close attention to detail. The last 20 years, I have designed implantable medical devices that sustained and improved the quality of life, there was no room for error. I greatly enjoy watching an idea go from the infant stages to Product Development and then "out the door" so to speak.
