Confidential, Sales Representatives (FSF) uses the on-line Merchant Affiliation System (MAS). External Sales Agents (ESA's) fax or courier contact sheets into Amex Canada Inc. where the data is manually keyed into MAS. The Want-To-Honour (WTH) channel receives calls directly from merchants wishing to accept the Amex card. In this case, a WTH telephone representative manually keys the set-up information into MAS. A need existed to improve set-up cycle time between the merchant and American Express. A loss of $1.7 million in revenue can be attributed to cycle type delays. 30% of applications are rejected in MAS or SEIMS. The project in addition to improving cycle time, set-up a systematic process for all acquisition channels to ensure parity. This project helped ESG Canada to move towards "instant activation". This process will improve cycle time, reduce set up rejects, improve the quality of the set up, reduce suppression, improve activation rates, improve sales efficiency, productivity, satisfaction, eliminate MAS and enhance the overall customer experience.
