Director - Head Of Infrastructure Resume
SUMMARY:
- This cover and below resume are being submitted for consideration to the posting you have posted. After reading the requirement details I feel my 20 plus years of progressive responsibilities in Information Technology and its Management would position me as a strong candidate/asset to the organization. With the broad range of industry backgrounds having worked in including: Financial (Banking and Brokerage), Hospitality, Manufacturing and Technology Services. I’ve demonstrated my ability to be agile and easily adapt to the specific requirements for a company within any industry.
- With my latest employment being in Technology Services I have worked with a breadth of companies in varying industries from Manufacturing with a global footprint, Benefits & Retirement with strict HIPPA requirements, Entertainment with PCI requirements, Government Agencies with high security requirements, and Financial market data with sub - millisecond transaction times and transaction counts surpassing 1 million per second. With each effort always maintaining their focus in defining and executing to their specific needs with a 100% success rate. To define a few, these efforts have included:
- Global corporate divestiture effecting both front and back office operations with financial/contractual obligations under a tight schedule on a global scale. Implementing a dedicated private cloud distributed regionally for back office and globally for front office (File, Print country specific applications.) with a full ITSM portfolio.
- Technology outsourcing(ITO), migrating their entire back office to a new greenfield infrastructure optimizing the use of the available compute and storage by consolidating it with the use of virtualization, and providing rapid deployment leveraging automation from VMware vRA/RO, Chef & knife providing the customer the ability to not only deploy an instance, but the full application stack and all core infrastructure (eg: Service Management - CMDB/CI, Monitoring, Backup, Malware, etc.) in a manner requiring zero touch and managing the instance throughout its full lifecycle (Initiation to disposal.).
- These efforts are not accomplishable by an individual and as such I have had the privilege to obtain and lead highly skilled teams through the challenges faced in working with diverse corporations tackling the challenges faced to be successful. These teams have included on and off-shore resources from all disciplines (eg: Server, Storage, Network, Backup, Monitoring, Security, Automation, etc.) and the coordination through a PMO including Project Managers and Master Schedulers.
- While I have only discussed 2 of the multiple customers above they all require individual attention and a broad understanding of all aspects of the Information Technology which after understanding the goals of the customer can be aligned to define a strategic solution(s) that will not only meet the objectives of the customer for its immediate needs but also its forecasted 3-5 year objectives.
- With regards to management style I believe in "MBWA" (Management by Walking Around), acting as more of a coach or counselor, instead of a director. This methodology has ensured staff 'buy-in' and exposes you to both the positive and negative of systems already in place. I do not know everything and can and will always take criticism in stride (Positive or Negative). I believe in staff cross so you increase the value of each team member and decrease your exposure to losing a specific talent/knowledge, as you are sure to have turn over in any organization.
- For a more detailed representation of my skills and background, please review the enclosed resume or my profile. Thank you in advance for your consideration and I look forward to discussing further.
