Sap It Architect Resume
Austin, TX
SUMMARY:
- Motivated IT Professional recognized for troubleshooting, mentoring and being a committed team leader. Values opportunities to utilize technical expertise in order to improve IT processes, architect, design & setup ERP landscapes, and provide superior customer services. I have a total experience of 16+ years in the field of IT, and have worked for both SAP and ORACLE, and my industry experience spans Manufacturing, Construction, HI - Tech, BioTech and Retail Utilities. Following are some of my core areas of expertise:
- Establish a BI dual landscape for the client. Conducted multiple system refreshes for both ABAP and JAVA instances and implemented BI-Portal across the dual landscape. For the production BI system took part in HP clustering setup with HP engineers to test a successful failover for the client.
- Support provided to the BI technical team on a major data warehouse project. Besides creating the dual landscape, this required setting up multiple source connections to 3 source systems (including the current production BI system) and monitoring the extracts over a period of 4 weeks during which production data was migrated to efficiently designed cubes in the new production system. Working closely with the client managers and a BI implementation partner we were able to complete the project successfully on time and within budget.
- Completed upgrade on the ORACLE database from 10.2.0.2 to 10.2.0.4 for the dual BI landscapes.
- Upgrade the BI landscape with Enhancement Pack 1 for both ABAP and JAVA instances and Install BPC (Business Process Consolidation) Module for the client. Provide BASIS support to third party on BPC implementation.
- I completed a successful term as Project technical team lead & Senior BASIS resource for a complex multi-landscape SAP upgrade. Working with multiple vendors and project managers have managed GO-Live on SAP R/3 upgrade (46C to ECC 6.0) along with BW upgrade (30B to 7.0) and a Portal migration from EP6 to EP7. Some core pre-requisites had to be accomplished before the SAP upgrades like Database upgrade (Oracle 9.x to 10G) Bolt-On Application Upgrades and SOLARIS Upgrade (8.x to 10). The primary project started in Feb 2007 and was completed as of middle August 07. This was a very technically challenging project since three major SAP platforms were being upgraded to the Net-Weaver Technology.
- Responsible for both onshore and offshore infrastructure management for SAP landscapes through a team spread across 2 remote locations & one onshore.
- Production Support: Responsible as a BASIS Technical Manager to manage multiple production landscapes of SAP R/3, BW, Portals, SRM, XI, IS-U/CCS & CRM for the Client. Closely work with client on architecture review of SAP landscapes This involves managing a team of senior BASIS folks and working closely with the DBA and OS Team leads for achieving the target SLA’s with the client and keeping support tickets to the minimum.
- Process Improvement: I have setup a system maintenance process at the client site for periodic maintenance work which was adopted by other IT teams and is now followed by Client help-desk to announce downtimes and status reports on planned & unplanned activities. One of the critical processes improved was SAP Archiving. From 2 standard SAP CCS objects we went to 12 CCS objects and in a course of one year archived about 1.2 Tbyte of data.
- Mentoring: I have mentored my team at the offshore location for over two years to make them support the above complex landscape. This involved working closely with my counterpart team-leads & the junior BASIS, DBA, UNIX staff at the onshore and offshore locations. I have currently engaged my offshore teams to closely work with SAP support for implementations of the recommendations for GO-Lives and EWA reports for the multiple landscapes at the client site.
