My responsibilities in this position include being tasked with maintaining our Exchange 2007 nvironment. This includes 4 clustered Exchange servers, 3 active and one passive. 2 HUB/CAS servers
and 3 external CAS servers. All are located at the corporate office. I also am responsible for 7 additional servers installed at remote locations worldwide. I’m very familiar with PowerShell, having written over 200 scripts to help with anything from the setup of new employees to scripts to help maintain/monitor the Exchange 2007 environment and gathering needed information from Active Directory. I have also done scripts to help monitor the health of our Active Directory environment. I was project manager for the migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 worldwide. Responsible for over 25 exchange 2003 servers, this included ensuring the daily backup completed, making sure mail was flowing as expected to doing full server restores and or mailbox restores. . I also have the responsibilities of being second/third level support for our help desk. We support Windows 7, XP and Windows 2003/2008. Along with Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, DFS/FRS, Windows load balancing, DNS, DHCP and WINS servers. I also assist in the maintenance for our Active Directory environment; we have gone from a single domain model, to a model with several child domains and are now migrating back to a flat single domain model. Also assist with maintaining all Cisco/Juniper switches/routers on the network. This includes IOS/Junos upgrades, maintaining the network inventory and making sure maintenance contacts are up to date. The Cisco equipment can range from a 2960 up to 6513’s and routers from a 1700 to a 7404. I’m also familiar with Juniper Netscreens and Juniper ex4200 switches setup in a virtual chassis. I also am responsible for the design and building of the servers that are used in the office, Windows NT 4.0, Exchange 5.0, Internet Information Server and Microsoft Proxy Server. My responsibilities included maintaining classroom computers by seeing that the proper software is installed and by overseeing repair and providing technical assistance when necessary. I was responsible for the hardware for classes that are held on-site. Which includes maintaining the network file servers, office computers and associated hardware. Duties also included, starting new users on the LAN and setting up any new equipment that the office staff may need that is associated with the network. Such as installing net cards, installing the Novell software for the net cards and installing the software the user requires I was often called upon to inaugurate new users for our MS-Mail network and Intel Faxability fax software and to provide software support to the office. MS Office 4.2, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Office for Windows95 were all used.
Also responsible for the equipment we delivered to off site locations. Verified that all of the equipment was in working order and saw to it that any new software was installed and working correctly. Prepared any new equipment that was to be used for off-site training for delivery and correct any problems that came up at the site. Moreover, on a regular basis, I upgraded the file servers to meet the increasing demand for drive space and the amount of users able to login simultaneously and build Windows NT servers when they were needed (ver 3.51 & 4.0). Responsibilities also included setting up several Microsoft Exchange servers used for training and office use. Expertly familiar with software produced by various companies (Borland, Lotus, WordPerfect and Microsoft).
