Responsibilities:

  • Joined SWN to support green fields implementation of Oracle EBS 12.1.1 and upgraded it to 12.1.2. I built the first instances for EBS here including the build out of Linux, the Oracle database, and the applications stack. Until a Linux admin was hired a few months later I was the Linux admin as well.
  • Did complex tuning on VMWare instances including oacore JVM tuning, SQL Tuning, and tracing OS system calls to identify excess time in apps tier processes. Java tuning for Output Post Processors.
  • Worked hands on implementing the Oracle Exadata machines we use for EBS here. We also support OBIEE and Hyperion databases on this architecture. I am responsible for all Linux administration on these clusters, as well as the RAC database administration. I have done bare metal recovery on this platform.
  • Built 2 node RAC databases on VMWare to support our Oracle ECM installation.
  • Helped to upgrade and configure OEM as part of the ongoing deployment and use of that framework.
  • Built reverse proxies based on Apache and compiled them from source including implementation of mod rewrite and mod secuirty. Deployed them behind reverse proxies and got experience troubleshooting load balanced configurations and configuring EBS for both load balancing and reverse proxies.
