Reservoir Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Mad Dog DWGoM Field: SPAR with a dual-drilling rig in Green Canyon straddling the Sigsbee Escarpment in 6600 ft water depth. Forecasted reserves of 1200 MMboe and production of 200 Mbopd. Team modeled the sub-salt reservoir with poor seismic quality and inaccurate velocities and depth conversions. Led the leadership team in selecting and quantifying the business drivers. Mitigated Flow Assurance issues including scale, hydrates and asphaltenes. Learned and implemented Lean Project Management.
- Team proposed Air Injection for fractured carbonate oil reservoirs in the Cárdenas Mexico area to enhance oil production at a cost competitive with other production. Developed project to inject high temperature air into the oil reservoirs auto-igniting and producing significant heat and CO2 to enhance oil recovery. Screened fractured carbonate reservoirs for fracture and matrix permeability that would flood uniformly with gravity assistance and prevent injected gas from rapidly moving through the fracture system to the producing wells. Also, designed injection wells and estimated injection volumes.

Drilling Engineer
Responsibilities:
- A shallow anticline traps gas in multiple stacked sandstone reservoirs and by the ″6 fault″ to the east and ″A4 fault″ to the west. Led team in developing the depletion plan for Fault blocks 1 and 2. Depletion plan included planning early wells to acquire process and interpret dynamic data to optimize the location and number of future wells.
- Captured and used lessons learned from previous abandoned well due to a leaking packer, lost circulation and bit in the sidetrack, lost circulation and abandoned second sidetrack and perforated the upper zone in the well without gas handling equipment. Led the team in designing a well to address the shallow gas zones, depleted zones and faults issues, implementing lessons learned and maximizing Well Development Cost ($/boe), Productivity ($mm/mboepd), Well cost, Reserves, Rate, Days/10,000’, Days/completion and NPT.

Issues included easier well locations and a slow permitting process due to local perception that drilling degraded their quality of life. Led team in analyzing and improving their work process to increase well delivery from 54 to 57 wells per year and shortening the spud to first deliver by 8 days.
- Improved economics of drilling and completing Bromide wells. Arkoma Strategy expectation to sustain production while decreasing costs. Led team in eliminating non-value requirements, improving well productivity and capital efficiency in drilling the Kilpatrick wells. Project Management
Responsibilities:
- Developed and implemented a stage-gate process to improve project economics by 3-7 PI Capital Project Profitability. Developed skills in leading multidiscipline teams in Decision Analysis and Value Engineering. Developed major capital projects strategies and optimized engineering and design and economics.
- Wellhead platform with three-phase separation exports wet gas and wet condensate separately using 14 inch 25km subsea export lines to TEMSAH platform for processing and exporting. Ahken achieved hydrate control using DEG imported from a piggyback line from TEMSAH and injected into the export streams. TEMSAH no longer had the pump capacity to transport the DEG. Selected the option to use a Kinetic Hydrate Inhibitor (KHI) versus adding a pump on TEMSAH. The KHI option of installing a KHI storage and solar powered injection unit on Ahken saved capital cost and was more environmentally friendly than DEG hydrate control.
