  • Over the past nineteen years worked on a full range of projects related to the PeopleSoft Application as a consultant/contractor. Including all of the major components of PeopleSoft development. My responsibility included the analysis of the second collection of data, modification to data as it related to the proper reference id values required and appropriate data cell population that required related values.

PeopleSoft/Workday Consultant

  • Led the data extract project from PeopleSoft to Workday. This involved extracting data out of PeopleSoft initially to help configure all the required hierarchy organizational data required in Workday prior to extracting the employee transactional data.
  • Worked on the data extract for Workday HCM, and led the team on providing the data extract from PeopleSoft training data for load into their new training module Cornerstone scheduled to go live simultaneously with the new Workday system.
  • Assisted with the generation of Workday Advanced Custom Reports and Integrations EIB Enterprise Integration Builder . EIB is a tool used in Workday to handle inbound files to Workday or outbound files from Workday to vendors or Web Services. Since Workday is heavily object oriented strong understanding of calculated fields is a requirement for advance report writing and integrations. Additionally, the use of writing XSLT to transform data from the advanced reports is common. Generated several XSLT xsl for the purpose of generating flat files for vendors.

Security Administrator

  • Acquired to assist as a temporary Security Administrator due to an unexpected departure of their administrator. The security role was very basic in that the majority of the workload was password resets, new personnel access and terminating access.
  • Modified nearly 250 SQRs to account for POI types either by exclusion or inclusion depending on the purpose and modified the SQR code for all processes as well as some PeopleCode modification related to the POI changes.

  • Worked on nearly 110 SQR programs and many queries for paygroup and benefit program populations.
  • Assisted in many PeopleSoft online modifications and new development that were needed to accommodate this acquisition. As the year progressed, was asked to stay on to assist them through the Open Enrollment paper process.
  • During the acquisition work, advised Carpenter that there were many areas of SQR coding that needed some fine tuning. Much of their code included a great deal of hardcoding which generated the need of maintenance for even minor changes. Was able to significantly reduce the hardcode by including additional code that could use setup and configuration values from within PeopleSoft. In some cases, new tables and pages were developed and used as 'storage points' where the functional team could maintain values themselves for value changes thereby reducing their dependence on the technical side to make coding changes as these values changed.
  • Assisted Carpenter Cartech with some production support while a couple of members of the team get more involved in a Kronos implementation.

  • Joined Carpenter shortly after their implementation of PeopleSoft converting from ADP Horizons product . Primary function was in development and support of HR and Benefits.
  • Within a few months of joining Carpenter, they expressed a desire to catch up on unapplied bundle updates to the PeopleSoft system Bundles 6 through 9 . They preferred not to apply one bundle at a time and making the needed modifications to their customizations with each step. They were looking for a possibility of applying all bundles in a short period of time. Led the effort to make this happen over a period of three months.
  • Placed into the role of PeopleSoft Team Lead and Security Administrator.
  • As team lead was the primary liaison between the technical and functional PeopleSoft areas. Gathered specifications and designed solutions for meeting the needs of the functional area.
  • As Security Administrator, outlined permission lists, defined roles and created user profiles normally by copy . In addition, maintained query trees and query security, processed the Portal Sync and the Security Join Tables Processes SJT .
  • Advanced the support into areas such as, ePerformance, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service. Assisted with several tax updates including impact analysis. Also took the initiative to incorporate the use of the ExcelToCI tool for several areas of data load previously requiring manual data entry directly to PeopleSoft including merit increases.
  • Most challenging effort was designing a Variable Compensation solution within PeopleSoft to move Carpenter's process away from an Excel Spreadsheet solution.

  • The focus of this assignment was the extraction and conversion of PeopleSoft data into comma and tab delimited files, via SQR, for import to the ORACLE financials suite. Was responsible for the creation of several sqrs to accomplish this task. Primarily, the focus was related to Fixed Assets, Quantity On Hand and assistance to Bills of Materials and Routings.
  • Several crosswalks or mapping tables were developed for use in translating data from PeopleSoft values to ORACLE values where needed. This allowed for flexibility for data conversion changes reducing the need for code changes.
  • The project required passes through two unit test processes and several mock conversion steps in order to ensure data was ready for go live . Because of the tight deadline on this project code modifications were expected to be completed and ready for new testing within two hours of discovered issues.

One interface contains the 401k deferral elections, loan information and catch-up deferral data single client feed . This information is used to generate a comma-delimited file for load into the ADP for windows system for employee deductions, as well as, a hardcopy report of data contained in the file. The second interface contained stock purchase and stock exercise data. Included in this project was the ability to automate running of this process through Process Scheduler and give end user the optional ability to manually run through a menu option.

  • Wrote a series of SQR programs to help with cleaning and tuning of Ben Admin related data.

  • Bonus and Merit increase processing were also part of responsibilities. This involved the generation of csv files for ADP Payroll for Windows bonus load and an SQR to mass update PS JOB with Merit increase data.
