- The scope of the project was to do a major enhancement for the existing legacy system people soft based (GEMS).
- Handling two more projects on Y-6 and Y-10 enhancements at the same time.
- The Global Entity Management System (GEMS) is used by Citigroup to track certain information for legal vehicles as defined in Citigroup’s Legal Vehicle Management Policy. It includes entities that are part of Citigroup’s legal vehicle organizational structure. GEMS is currently used for Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) Y-6 and Y-10 regulatory reporting, and other external and internal reporting as well as Corporate Governance external filings such as the filings with Company’s House in the UK.
- GEMS is primarily a Corporate Governance tool designed to support local reporting in different jurisdictions and does not support the needs of a global company such as Citigroup that is subject to multiple regulations in multiple countries
- GEMS is used globally in approximately 95 countries and has over 3,000 legal vehicles and over 500 edit/browse users. The system is also used by other Citigroup units (e.g. Tax & legal Compliance) that seek information about legal vehicles and provides reports to other systems.
