- Led design and development of an Internet site for sending Persian/Arabic email. The bidirectional logic was implemented as a custom ColdFusion tag using JavaScript and C++. The dynamic web pages of this site use custom XML tags to markup the transliterated text and the conversion engine generates an HTML message ready to be sent over the internet. Postchi.com became the top Persian/Arabic destination for more than 2000+ unique visitors a day.

- Lead developer and database architect of the Student Metro Cards Application and Database. The project involved the reverse engineering of an undocumented system and development of a new solution. The student database was successfully redesigned and delivered on time.

- Project manager for migration of 50+ Notes databases to the Internet using domino. The project involved redesign of the existing databases to take advantage of Domino features. Project included data warehousing, data quality audit, workflow analysis, production procedures, ETL, and conversion of SGML to RTF for Lotus Notes import.
- Technical lead for the conversion segment of the BNA Web Delivery project. The conversion involved more than 30 different SGML data types and multiple DTDs. All the modules were developed using Omnimark to convert SGML to a well-formed XML formats and perform data quality checks and improvements.
- Responsible for the collection of system requirements and development of the system architecture. The process involved the selection of a WEB database publishing vendor, evaluation of third-party tools, evaluation of the XML technology, and design of a central XML data repository.
- Redesigned of the code repository of the IT department and modularized source codes into functional libraries. The project was completed on time and budget with 75% of reusable code.
- Developed an import filter to parse and populate Lotus Notes database from XML. Also designed an intermediate Notes XML DTD and wrote tools to convert BNA’s SGML data into XML. My white paper regarding this project was accepted for presentation at SGML/XML 97.

- Design and developed two auto-tagger DLLs to convert MS Word and WordPerfect documents to SGML. These converters were developed using Lex&Yacc and Visual C++ to parse RTF or WordPerfect documents and to generate an SGML document based on a pre-defined DTD. To view and print the generated SGML document, I also designed a Microsoft Windows application to parse the SGML format and paginate it for viewing and printing. The SGML viewer was developed using MFC and Visual C++ and supported all the text attributes, multiple font, images and graphics, tables, and running heading and footers.

- Developed a terminal emulation program to front-end the mainframe application and convert the incoming screens to Arabic. This Windows application was developed using Borland C++ and Arabic Windows SDK and used DDE and HLPI to communicate with the host UNISYS mainframe.
- Designed an automated data entry system to process large number of export authorization forms submitted by the companies exporting goods to Saudi Arabia. I developed a Visual Basic program that will assist users fill out the application form. Using high speed scanners and TeleForm software, the commercial office scans these forms and stores relevant information into an SQL server.

- As a key developer of the BookManager product, I participated in the development of the VM version of the product using Script/VS, REXX, and C. BookManager/Build converts tagged documents (Script, CALS SGML and BookMaster) to digital books. I converted BookManger/Build from VM to the MVS operating system with a new ISPF user interface. I was the development coordinator for the translation of the product into several languages (NL Feature). Participated in the design of the future releases of the BookManager product.
