Quality Assurance Manager: Confidential Rewrote the Quality Systems Manual for FDA approval. Directed company through ISO Recertification process, passing Recertification on our first try. Passed an FDA audit with no write-ups and only seven recommendations. Interviewed, hired, and trained the QC inspector; supervised his daily activities, approving his work. Instrumental in evaluating and acquiring new high tech inspection equipment which allowed us to increase our level of detailed inspections, culling out more marginal parts, thus reducing the number of non-conforming parts returned by our clients and improving our relationships with our clients. Quality Assurance Manager: Tech Craft. Hired by Tech Craft to improve their quality system. Wrote their first complete (250 pages), ISO-compliant Quality Manual that would keep Tech Craft on Goodrich Aero Structure’s QPL (Qualified
Product List). Within three month’s of my hire, Goodrich conducted a surprise audit which revealed multiple, long-standing errors (25 pages of 8-10 write-ups per page) at Tech Craft and threatened to pull all their contracts. (This amounted to 75% of Tech Craft’s business.) Wrote a Procedures Manual in 9 months that corrected all of the audit-detected errors. Called for a Goodrich re-audit and regained our QPL status. Supported the supply base by conducting final inspections. Prepared all certifications for the outside source inspector. Scheduled the outside source inspectors, estimating accurately when a project would be done and available for the inspection. Orchestrated as tight a turnaround as possible from shop floor to approval by outside source inspector to shipment, which meant the client paid Tech Craft sooner. Improved on-site safety.
