ACADEMIC PROJECTS
- Digital Vending Machine:
Designed, developed and tested digital vending machine application, which support interactions with end customers for selling digital products such as digital books, movies, music etc. The system has a web user interface and supports two user groups: Customers and System Administrators. Developed a test plan which includes detailed test specification to verify the code and validate using Manual Testing. Developed manual test reports. Elementool is used to track defects. Environment: C#, VBScript, SQL Server, Elementool
- Driver’s Assistant:
Designed and implemented Driver’s Assistant for a web client using ASP .NET, C# and SQL Server 2005. Driver’s Assistant provides a detailed guidance and services needed by drivers including service stations, gas stations, towing services, weather and traffic conditions. These services can be accessed through a web server. The goal of this system is to develop mobile driver’s assistant for silicon valley that will be available on pocket PC. Developed manual test cases and executed them. Environment: C#, ASP .NET, SQL Server 2005
- Online DVD Shopping System:
Designed an application to provide online DVD shopping services for the customers. The customers have access to search and select DVD’s of their interest. They can buy the DVD’s online or can save to buy later. The purpose of this project is to get hands-on experience on implementing a database application from conceptual design to application design. Manual testing is performed using test cases. Environment: ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server 2005
- Sales Force Management System:
Designed and developed the Sales Force Management System using Java, jDeveloper and Oracle 10g. System seeks to automate various tasks involved in customer resource management. The sales force management system will help a company to efficiently manage its sales representatives and track its customers. It will reduce the falling through of leads and also help to manage the leads efficiently through their entire life-cycle till they become contracts. Environment: Java, JavaScript, jDeveloper, Oracle 10g
- MultiProtocol Layer Switching:
This is a theory project. Objective of this project is to understand technology behind MPLS, operation of MPLS, components of MPLS, MPLS applications in Traffic Engineering and VPN and advantages.
- Global Early Warning System for Natural Disaster:
As part of this project, we proposed an early warning system for natural disasters in which the network will automatically perform real-time analysis of these disaster events and will send an early warning signal of the impact of the disaster. Designed this project using UML diagrams (Use case diagrams, Sequence diagrams, Activity diagrams, Class diagrams and CRC cards). Environment: Microsoft Visio, Rational Rose
- Master’s Project: Asset and Liability Management Analysis using ETL and Reporting Tools:
Developed a data warehouse which provides intelligent reports for assessment of asset and liability for a banking system. This project addresses on how to design a data warehouse that helps the business experts take better decisions, by presenting the data in the right view and at the right time and the architecture of the project is multi tier. First tier, staging area, is both a storage area and set of processes referred as extract-transform-load (ETL). In the next tier, warehouse area, data is organized, stored and made available for direct querying by users and report writers. Informatica is used to design and implement these tiers. Last tier, reporting area, provides services to business experts, which enable them to leverage the warehouse area for reporting and analytic decision-making. Environment: Informatica, Business Objects, Oracle 10g, Toad
- Undergraduate Project: Email Alert Systems:
Designed and implemented using Java 2.0, Servlets, JDBC and Oracle. The objective of this project is to alert one’s mobile when a new mail hits the inbox.
