CHEC (Census Hiring Employment Clearance) is a system used for processing applicants who apply for positions at the Census Bureau. Bureau of census is in the process of hiring 3 million temporary field employees who will eventually perform duties of collecting data for 2010 Census. All these applications go through CHEC system for background checks of these applicants. CHEC system has name check and Finger print process sends information to FBI and other agencies to get background information on these employees. Based on results received from FBI, Analyst and Supervisors make a decision as favorable or unfavorable to hire a particular applicant.

ETMIS+ Educational and training management system provide a means to Census Bureau employees to register for Census sponsored classes (AUTO TRAIN) or from outside vendors (AD-HOC). This system maintains training history of all census employees who have completed and attended census sponsor class or attended class offered by non-census institutions. Census employees uses following modules TMIS+, CPCS and CSPS for travel, reconcile purchase card transactions and small purchases. These feeder system modules are interfaced with CFS (Core Financial System) for invoicing, payments etc.

I was involved in testing above mentioned CBS (Census Business System) modules on web migration projects. All modules were converted from client/Server to web. Performed regression testing of all supported CBS modules and also involved in load testing, stress testing and performance testing of CBS system.

Another major project I was involved was “Feeder Split” Project. The CBS feeder system project objective was to separate the CBS administrative and financial feeder systems from the core (CFS) applications. Feeder systems were using FDR (Feeder) database and core (CFS) systems were used CORE database. AIA services were developed to post/read transactions from one database to other database. Menus were developed using Oracle Application development frame work (Oracle ADF). Heavily involved in testing this Menus module to verify application menus are displayed correctly for users with specific menu roles.
