QA Tester (manual)

Involved in testing of an online, client server, and mainframe application, which was developed for Reliable Mail Service Company and its clients like Vertis, Alpha Graphics. RMS, Inc., is one of the leading companies in the United States that works for USPS and FEDEX. The application helps the company to enter prospective customers’ data. The applications also identifies the data to each client, pull up contact information, bar code, automatically pulls up the data for correspondence, fixed US postage, stuffs into appropriate envelopes, sorts out to assist the postal authorities to process. The Online application has different modules and I was involved in testing the data from RDBMS, job run on mainframe printers, bar coding and address pulling to each client

Responsibilities:

Assisted in preparing Test plans and Test cases (manual) based on business and functional requirements analysis.
Cooperated/assisted with seniors to develop automated scripts using Mercury Imperative’s automation tool QTP for Functional, Regression and Database testing according to the requirements.
Involved with the team in Unit testing, Integration testing, User Acceptance testing for various combinations using manually written in Excel, Word, and automated scripts.
All the test scripts were first manually executed and then recorded the same in QTP. All the issues those came up during this process were logged in Test Director as defects.
Performed Backend testing by writing SQL Queries to make sure that data was entered properly in right tables.
Verified Backend database manually by myself and also verified automatically with the association of the seniors using QTP by inserting Database Checkpoints.
Performed Data Driven testing (along with the senior) of the application using WinRunner.
Identified software bugs and interacted with QA lead and developers to resolve technical issues.
