Selected Accomplishments
Reduced subscriber attrition, increasing revenue. A.H. Belo was providing news content online for free, which was impacting subscriber income for the newspaper. Designed and implemented premium content strategy and charged for web access to stories. Cut subscriber loss by 10% and added $100K in digital subscriber income.
Introduced CMS, cutting production time. It took six hours for an average story to move from the writing phase to publication at A.H. Belo. Negotiated contract for new Content Management System, introduced Agile development methods, and increased content publication flexibility. Cut time to publish 33% to two hours.
Built e-commerce site. Allconnect used their website for marketing but not on-line sign-up for services. Hired team and created new website, integrating e-commerce engine with existing back-end systems used by call center. Completed redesign in 8 months, providing new sales channel and increased revenue.
Moved website to Top 10 worldwide. The Weather Channel’s website was static, presenting 3-day old content. Led team in development of new infrastructure, user experience, database, and programming language, turning the site into dynamic, use-friendly presence. Boosted page views and moved from Top 25 to Top 10 most viewed site.
