- Assisted Infrastructure consultants in planning for the initial, proof-of-concept development environment for WebSphere Portal Server Version 5.x and WebSphere Application Server 6.0 with ILWCM. As part of the service I provided, it was required that I speak with several application managers and developers to obtain their hardware requirements and compile that information into a spreadsheet to prepare the total hardware requirement list. Our group also sourced information from the existing WebSphere and database administrators concerning the utilization of storage space and memory for the existing applications and the requirements of the administrators for build scripts to install the WebSphere applications. I tested the preliminary installation scripts and refined scripts as required. This project became a short term project when the bid went to Accenture. I left to join the NiSource project.

- Grey SF is a highly creative, boutique advertising agency owned by Young and Rubicam. Grey SF develops web site content utilizing both in-house developers and also out sources work to developers in China and India. The agency relocated to new office space in San Francisco. The hardware was moved and reinstalled in the new building. I joined to reinstall the WebSphere applications on Redhat Linux. Once the environments were rebuilt, I configured multiple WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0 profiles to function as separate test space for development and test groups. The WebSphere servers were clustered and managed by WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Manager. I extended the capability of the prior installations by the addition of the multiple profiles and provided an asset to the developers and testers who were working to complete development and testing, and work with different versions of the code simultaneously. I also configured and deployed multiple ear files daily after the initial installation and stabilized the environment. This was a short-term assignment, once the environments were rebuilt and stabilized, the administration was taken over by an in-house administrator.
