DESCRIPTION:
On day to day basis, this individual will work to develop, document and
implement database solutions according to business needs in the context of data
warehouse environment. They will be part of team responsible for building out,
testing and supporting enterprise data marts and data warehouses. They will be
expected to perform data analysis and profiling, comprehend and rationalize
business data, and develop SQL queries. They will also need to validate test
scenarios.
TOP 3 TECHNICAL MUST HAVES:
1. ANSI SQL experience
2. Data validation experience
3. Datawarehouseing experience (knowledge/understanding – will be asked some
pretty technical questions around this – worked in data mart/data warehouse for
little bit of time)
TOP 4 TECHNICAL NICE TO HAVES:
1. financial/banking
2. Any ETL coding experience would be nice to have, but not required.
3. Any data mapping specifications/technical lead on previous project would be
nice to have.
ALL MUST HAVE SKILLS:
-3-5+ years ANSI SQL experience – candidates must be extremely proficient/this
is the core skill for this role. More recent experience is ideal. Demonstrate
day to day use of SQL.
-3-5+ years strong querying & analyzing skills.
-3-5+ years of programming with strong analytical skills.
-3-5+ years of Oracle experience 10 or 11g
-Large dimensional database structure & design experience.
-Knowledge of ETL (not coding, but will need the knowledge; not an ETL role)
-Must have working knowledge of and understanding business context and be
skilled in analyzing data from business and technical perspective.
-Must have excellent relationship management skills.
-Must have strong analytical skills.
-Must be an independent worker and have the ability to work with little
supervision.
-Must be well-spoken and able to work in geographically distributed team
environment.
IDEAL PROFILE:
We are really looking for individuals that can provide strong examples of
experience and demonstrate how they applied this in previous roles. We also
really want candidates to discuss this applicable experience in interviews vs.
giving the text book answer. Will interview will strongly focus on their
technical knowledge.
SOFT SKILLS:
Strong communication skills (in person & over the phone) verbal and
written. They must have good documentation, be self starter, ability to come in
the door and hit the ground running as well as be outgoing and able to work in
fast paced environment.
TEAM CULTURE & SUCCESS PROFILE:
This is a very faced paced team with aggressive goals to meet. We really need
individuals that can collaborate with the team well in high production
environment. Someone who is willing to have flexible schedule. They also need
to be able to wear multiple hats in this environment. Another candidate that is
very strong in this role has the following: Strong documentation, ability hit
ground running, great SQL skills and background knowledge. Also has very strong
data warehousing knowledge base but also really willing to learn more to be up
to par.
LOCATION:
The preference will be to have candidates local to Mt.
Laurel, however they can also be remote (east coast only) but will be required
to travel as required by the project. Any travel required by the project will
be reimbursed.
SHIFT:
Nights and weekend hours may be required; there will be overtime in this role as required by the project. Candidates must be ok with this overtime and off hours as required.
