JOB DESCRIPTION:-

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design, implement, and provide ongoing support of network systems of high complexity in extranet, backbone, and corporate environments to fulfill business needs for performance and cost benefits.
• Serve as a technical lead for hardware installation, configuration, and operational support of these networks’ routers, switches, load balancers, WAN optimizers.
• Serve as technical a lead for WAN Optimization, working with application owners and clients to fine-tune WAN links for optimal performance.
• Provide 3rd level technical support to clients and to technical teams to resolve network issues and to support the implementation of new network solutions.
• Evaluate new technology and bring opportunities forward that would improve the future network architecture, performance, and network services.
• Ensure full compliance for all network architecture, designs, and implementations both past and present.
• Ensure all changes go through appropriate review, change control, and acceptance before implementation.
• Lead development, testing and QA functions to ensure that projects are securely delivered and fulfill expectations.
• Build and maintain relationships with teams and third parties on network development or support issues.
• Provide highest level of technical consultancy to ensure problem resolution is achieved in the shortest possible time frame.
• Work with the Information Security team to ensure solutions deployed meet company security requirements and provide technical assistance for investigation and analysis of security alerts.
• Development of processes and procedures for use by the Network team and third parties in the management of network environments.
• Develop and position solutions and build plans to effectively gain buy-in from all participants.
• Develop and streamline processes to further improve delivery of Network and Telecommunication services.
• Provide recommendations to management team to increase effectiveness of organization and technology solutions.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Degree (Bachelors of Arts (BA) or Bachelors of Science (BS)) preferred.
• At least 5 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments and designing, planning, documenting and implementing LANs and WANs using latest technology.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Sr. Network Engineering role.
• CCNA certification required.
• CCNP certification a plus.
• Expertise on IP Technologies and extensive knowledge of WAN technologies such as MPLS, ATM and Frame Relay.
• Expert engineering knowledge of network hardware, specifically Cisco routers and switches, with a strong focus on data center technology such as Cisco Nexus and campus technology such as Cisco InstantAccess.
• Extensive experience and expertise on IP routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Expert engineering knowledge of WAN optimization technology, including Riverbed Steelhead, to optimize application traffic across the WAN links.
• Knowledge of Cisco encryption technologies (IPSec, SSL), and hot standby protocols HSRP and VRRP.
• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocols, including common application protocols.
• Experience in high-availability networks in load-balanced, n-tier application environments.
• Experience with Cisco wireless technology.
• Ability to work in a fast-pace environment; ability to multi-task, change direction, effectively prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• ITIL certification preferred.
