Printer Deployment Technician Opportunity in Philadelphia, PA

My client, an international financial institution located in Washington DC has a long term contract position available for a Printer Deployment Technician.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate the vendor access to all spaces where the new printers will be installed
  • Check and prepare the spaces for deployment
  • Coordinate the necessary works (e. g. electrical and data cabling) and make sure that everything is ready for deployment
  • Coordinate with the units' ITs and office managers and identify the best ways to have a smooth deployment with no disturbances to the users (after hours)
  • Provide logistical support to the vendor when delivering MPS equipment in each building (schedule the loading dock access, coordinate the movers, assure available space in the storage rooms. etc.)
  • Coordinate the storage and staging areas
  • Coordinate with the Vendor and GSD department the removal and disposal of the old printers
  • Provide logistical support to the vendor for printer installation and setup
  • Prepare deployment progress and update reports
  • Collect information for planning, installation and post-installation evaluation
  • Communicate through email and telephone with the implantation team
  • Collaborate with other team members and contribute productively to the team's work and output, demonstrating respect for different points of view
  • Analyze facts and data to support logical decisions regarding the project work
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience working in the office technology support field
  • Experience with desktop software: including but not limited to Microsoft Windows 7, Office 2010, Lotus Notes and SAP.
  • Good knowledge of hardware and software products and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • Good knowledge of office technology hardware – PC's and printers
  • Good understanding of information systems technology to include common computer applications, operating systems, hardware, networks, and messaging systems of the types
  • Good knowledge of using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and weekends on as-needed basis in close co-ordination with onsite and offshore team as well as with end users across the globe, in a multi-vendor / service provider environment
  • Willingness to work after hours
