Client currently seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in the US.
Provide critical patch management activities to mitigate potential impact from the recent Meltdown and Spectre flaws. Additionally, resources will support the Windows 10 rollout and Windows Server upgrades.
Responsibilities include:
Provide support, manage, and develop organization's Server and Storage systems
Maintain, update and create automation workflows for Windows Server Patching, Windows Server Builds, and other process improvements
Work with internal resources and manage vendors throughout the Incident/Problem/Change processes
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Provide escalated support for service desk
Produce ad-hoc and scheduled reporting as required by the role
Continually analyze, review and update current processes and procedures
Ensure that the customers/users are kept informed of progress throughout the lifecycle of a Problem, Incident or Change
Participate in the Change Management process and act as technical lead, or implementer, depending on requirement
To participate in Project Management related build, test, and release activity as required
Maintain responsibility for the development and implementation of hardware, software and networking systems in support of:
Microsoft Windows 2008, 2012, 2016 server support, Group Policy & Active Directory
VMWare ESXi and vSphere
Working in enterprise data centers, installing server and storage hardware and managing suppliers
NetApp / IBM n-series hands-on storage skills including configuration of snap management
SQL server 2008 – basic administration (migrating DBs between hardware, backup / recovery etc.)
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup systems o HP Blade C series chassis and HP Blade server hardware (including Flex connectivity)
Ensure completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by line management
Experience and Skills:
3+ years of experience as a Windows System Administrator.
3+ years of experience with Microsoft System Center, WSUS & Active Directory.
Strong Windows Server 2008/R2, 2012/R2 & 2016 experience.
Hands on technical experience deploying and supporting MSSQL and IIS in a large enterprise.
Good working knowledge of PowerShell, and VB scripting, etc.
Working knowledge of clustering, SAN, and networking.
Broad understanding of an array of technologies and their use, such as: Windows Server, Active Directory, RDS and Citrix.
Experience with security management tools including anti-virus, PKI, HDD encryption, and general serverbased security hardening.
A firm understanding of PCI requirements and the auditing process.
Participate in on call rotation during non-business hours for high severity issues
