- Client currently seeks a Systems Management Consultant to join our team in the US.
- Provide critical patch management activities to mitigate potential impact from the recent Meltdown and Spectre flaws. Additionally, resources will support the Windows 10 rollout and Windows Server upgrades.
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to design, implement, and manage Microsoft SCCM 2012 R2 solutions for patch management, software distribution, operating system deployment, network access protection and hardware and software inventory.
- Identify the gaps and needs for SCCM, WSUS, and other patching requirements.
- Engineer client and server solutions by mapping customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions.
- Tecchnical designs and lead implementation of management solutions to specifications.
- Isolate, coordinate and resolve performance problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools and techniques.
- Provide guidance and direction to less experienced administrators on department processes and complex technical issues.
- Maintain knowledge of best practices and make proactive recommendations to function leadership.
- Schedule planned outages and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Tune, adjust and perform routine operation checks on equipment.
- 10+ years of experience as an Infrastructure or Enterprise Architect, experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
- Expertise in Microsoft Systems Center with specific knowledge of SCCM including:
- Ability to create Advertisement/Collections/Packages/Applications within an SCCM 2012 R2 environment
- Understanding of setup/use/troubleshooting of software deployment "Maintenance Windows”.
- Full understanding of downloading and deploying Software Updates within SCCM 2012 R2.
- Understanding of Operating System Deployment (OSD) in SCCM 2012 R2
- Reporting experience with the SCCM database
- Knowledge of MS Security (Patch Management) and WSUS Administration.
- Knowledge of Back-end Infrastructure Management, Group Policy, and Network Access Protection (NAP).
- Practical knowledge and experience in service orchestration, provisioning solutions, and services delivery techniques
- Provide configuration management leadership for infrastructure domains.
- Proficiency with scripting languages, multiple packaging / deployment applications, and distribution methods.
- Experience with System Center Operations Manager, Services Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, HyperV, and System Center Orchestration Manger is preferred.
- Experience with assessment tools such as Microsoft MAP and ACT; AppDNA; ChangeBase; and Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) is a plus.
