Description:
The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for managing complex projects and teams consisting of business analysts, developers, and business users. The team will also interface with other internal development teams, resource managers, infrastructure resources, and vendors to deliver solutions and services to our customers in large, multi-site engagements.

The Sr. Project Manager interacts closely with all team members to define the project parameters and to develop detailed project documentation outlining the project including project scope and business requirements, a project plan, budget, and schedule.
On smaller projects, the Sr. Project Manager may also serve as a Business Analyst to ensure that the requirements are clear and agreed upon between the development team and the customer.

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for executing the project according to the plan managing all issues that could impact the project using a pre-defined Project Management Methodology reporting the status to all stakeholders.

The Sr. Project Manager takes leadership and coaching from the Project Delivery Office.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, update, and manage project deliverables for project schedule, scope, and resource management
  • Execute the project ensuring project scope is delivered on schedule and on budget, and quality standards are met
  • Follow an established Project Management Methodology
  • Manage project issues, and follow up to ensure that owners are addressing the issues
  • Perform risk assessment and develop contingency plans to mitigate risk
  • Manage project change, assisting in any price change negotiations
  • Review and approve all project documentation created by team members
  • Review project invoices from accounting, resolving any associated billing issues
  • Run status meetings communicating project information, reviewing the project plan, and reviewing issues
  • Obtain client sign off showing completion of project objectives and project closure
  • Complete individual evaluations for each team member at the close of project for use by their resource manager during annual employee reviews
  • Other duties as required by management
Requirements:
  • A bachelor degree preferred and 7+ years of project management experience
  • Can provide a history of successful managing software development projects and demonstrate a solid understanding of Project Management Methodology
  • Commercial Insurance knowledge is a must with various experience on commercial insurance products/program lines
  • Strong interpersonal, customer interface, and negotiation skills
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral with public presentation experience.
