Position Overview:
The programmer will work with functional and technical architects/leads in analyzing the business requirement develop the code, test and implement it. The programmer also supports business users on a day to day basis responding to their queries related to computer systems, fixing bugs and making simple enhancements.
The programmer should strong technical and analytical skills. The position requires a highly motivated and versatile candidate with strong programming skills, good technical knowledge on the latest tools and platforms.
The programmer will mostly work on Drupal projects and will support other projects.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team
- Provide maintenance, including production support, enhancement and development work
- Work with the Functional Architect and Technical Architecture Specialist on an as-needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements
- Follow quality standards
- Support installation of application releases into production as directed
- Communicate accurate and useful status updates
- Complete assigned tasks
- Manage daily technical challenges and communicate with management any risks or issues
- Interact with the Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise Platform teams to ensure that solutions are built in adherence with the defined enterprise standards
- Code enhancement and development programs and/or required fixes to production problems using the functional and technical programming standards
- Test enhancement and development programs
- Participate in structured code reviews / walkthroughs
- Execute all required process steps
- Create and provide content for operational documentation to Technical Writers
- Utilize configuration management tools, design tools, debugging tools, and any other environment specific tools necessary to create, test, and implement an application
- Research problems before approaching the Team Lead or Functional Architect for assistance
- Keep abreast with latest technologies and platforms
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science or Engineering
- Role Specific Experience: 2+ years of IT experience with thorough knowledge in analysis, design, coding and good knowledge of latest programming technologies
- Experience and good understanding of traditional waterfall and agile methodologies
- Experience with innovative use of analytical models
- Advanced hands on experience in PHP, jQuery, MySQL, XML/XSS/XSD, HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript
- Understanding of complex enterprise data models
- A range of skill set and good knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the Application Team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment.
