MUST HAVE:

• Five or more years of experience within a large or complex server environment
• 3-5 years’ experience using SMP/Altiris (Symantec Management Platform) or Symantec ITMS
• 3-5 years’ experience with patch management and application deployment using either SMP/Altiris or SCCM
• 2 plus years’ experience with MSI Application Packaging (AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio, etc)
• SCS (Symantec Certified Specialist in ITMS 7.6 or higher) or equivalent MS Certification

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train users in complex topics, make presentations to an internal audience, and interact positively with upper management
• Independent problem-solving and self-direction
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server OS (2008-2016)
• Expert knowledge of patch management and software delivery in a complex or large enterprise server environment
• Advanced knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies to isolate and identify configuration, design, and software anomalies; ability to clearly articulate findings in written and verbal communications with development level engineering staff
• Comfort with most aspects of Windows Server operating system administration; for example, managing processes and services, system installation and configuration, and fundamentals of security
• Expert knowledge of Symantec Management Platform (SMP) and deploying software and security patches
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (e.g., VBScript, Windows PowerShell)
• Strong experience with application packaging tools (AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio) and Wise scripts
• Strong knowledge of ITIL project best practices and understanding of Release and Change Management principles.
• Works well independently and also within a team 
• Advanced knowledge of MSI application packaging
• Advanced knowledge of advanced security vulnerability remediation principles and methods
• Windows Update and Microsoft Patch deployment and troubleshooting 
• Advanced knowledge of application packaging tools (AdminStudio, Wise Package Studio) and Wise scripts

Desirable Background and Skills

• A degree in computer science or a related field
• ITMS custom reporting experience
• Proven SQL knowledge and advanced query building experience
• Agile methodology and knowledge of Jira a plus
