We're seeking a Business Analyst to work on DOE Strategic Initiative Projects. He / She must have at least 3+ years of business analysis/process redesign experience, as well as a broad knowledge of business process modeling and reporting needs.
As a Business Analyst, you will be a liaison between Business and Technology. You will work within a team to add application functionality to solve business problems using standard project management/business analysis lifecycle practices.
The core responsibilities of this position include: detailed project requirements, complex data analysis, data mapping, test scripts, and other project documentation; participating in meetings, building effective relationships with the business; managing to deadlines and project deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Serve as liaison between development team and business end-users
• Identify, assess, and document business requirements and functional specifications, recommending business priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and costs versus benefits of various solutions
• Responsible for working with the business to analyze business requirements, providing technical expertise, and producing specifications for any new / change in applications.
• Analyze impacts of proposed solutions on technology platforms
• Document test strategies ensuring that requirements documentation can be easily translated into test scripts, and ensure that the proper testing plans have been completed
• Identify and communicate risks to delivering solution on time
• Understand the context in which data is used within the business and match business requirements to the sources of data within systems
• Work with analyst and development team to design solutions for clients
• 3-5 years in Business Analysis
• Experience with large, complex projects
• Expertise in business analysis, analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and interact with all levels
• Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
• Strong verbal and writing skills
• Work under minimum direction and use independent judgment in decision-making
• Understanding of project management methodology and application development
• Proficiency in MSOffice Tools
• Visio preferred but not required.
• Knowledge SharePoint preferred
