Required Skills and Education
- Design and Implementation experience of F5 LTM and GTM
- Excellent understand different parameters on LTM, like VIP load balancing/Persistence/nattiing etc.
- Big-IP DNS (GTM) integration with F5 LTMs and Infoblox DNS, Wide IPs, concepts of HA using GTM versus LTM or both,
- F5 iQuery protocol concepts and setup
- GTM configuration using GUI or CLI
- Experience with F5 ASM & APM modules
- Expert knowledge of HTTP protocol versions, headers, methods, status codes, requirements
- Expert knowledge of troubleshooting tools tcpdump, ssldump, openssl, QKview, logs, curl, Wireshark, Fiddler, Postman, etc
- F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator (F5-CA) preferred
- Good understanding the traffic flow on internal LAN, Firewall, and WAN
- Good understanding on DNS functionality and flow
Day-to-day activities will include:
- Configure enterprise load balancers, Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Configure the network protocols all in a highly available clustered environment (especially HTTP, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) directories.
- Install/renew of Secure Sockets License (SSL) certificates.
- Use industry standard build and deployment to manage deployments as needed.
- Perform capacity planning for application servers and recommend future system requirements.
- Research, analyzes and recommends new technology solutions and standards related to the application servers.
- Adopt industry best practices and apply them to existing environment.
- Plan patches and upgrades.
- Ensure systems are secure and protected. Help deliver various project artifacts, and track assignments on large projects.
- Provide leadership (technical and non-technical) to project team members both within and outside of IT.
- Determine the impact of system changes and/or new functionality on the user community.
- Work closely with customers to deliver state of the art business solutions.
