Responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute*:

• Provide Backup support for global customer in a distributed infrastructure, with Windows and Linux servers.
• Perform Backup and Restore Operations (arcserve backup, arcserve UDP, NetBackup, Networker & Commvault) for 180+ locations
• Install and configure backup hosts & agents for all backup technologies
• Upgrade/Migrate/Consolidate Backup Hosts/Tools.
• Backup Monitoring & System Health Check
• Backup agent and patch installation
• Configure backup infrastructure components including TL, backup disk (recovery points, FSD, Data Domain, PureDisk)
• Configure backup policies and create/update policy documents
• Ensure all backup failures are captured using enterprise monitoring tool
• Compliance Activities - Documentation of Exception wherever needed
• Troubleshoot and remediate failed, incomplete/missed backups
• File-Level and Snapshot Restoration of data based on user requests
• Troubleshoot hardware faults, identify faulty part and work with OEM support vendor to get it replaced.
• Tape Library and Tape Devices Firmware related updates
• Tape Library Migration/consolidation
• Backup Monitoring and Reporting
• Tape Vaulting and Tape inventory
• Site contact coordination
• Assist with decommissioning and removal of backup devices
• Evaluate hardware and software, with the goal of improving and increasingly automating operations
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills, capable of writing/contributing to technical knowledge articles Independent problem solving skills and effective time management
• Required Skills:
• Experience with DELL EMC Networker or similar enterprise backup solutions including duplication appliances, applications and tape systems
• Sound knowledge on backup, restore and tape library maintenance
• ITIL training and/or certification
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers
• Certification in Data Protection tool will be preferred
