Application Developer for POS Terminal Product Management

Job Description:
The Application Developer will be responsible for coding, testing and analyzing application software; supports existing business systems applications; consults with business analysts to identify business needs and appropriate technical solutions; and responsible for designing and documenting technical requirements for business applications. Candidate should have basic knowledge of how the technology influences business strategic direction enabling definition and integration of technical plans supporting the enterprise business functions, product life cycle and processes.
Abilities include managing, manipulating, translating and analyzing large scale data files and raw data in order to present pictorially to senior management to ensure the right strategy is followed in launching POS terminal applications and hardware. This position includes the development of new business opportunities including the identification of markets, secondary research and business case development through metrics obtained from data collection. Applicant will assist in managing issues throughout the product development process including problem identification and root cause analysis. 

Required:
• 3 or more years’ experience with JAVA development tools
• Designs, develops and creates user-centered applications
• Graphic software, development tools and other applicable authoring tools, and front-end development using programming and scripting languages
• Microsoft Office Suite and be a subject matter expert of Excel, Access and PowerPoint
• Comfortable with website designing, building, hosting, implementation and maintenance
• Must have 2 or more years’ experience in UNIX operating system environment
• Financial background and experience with POS Terminal Products
• Must have the ability to develop and test code independently 
• Knowledge of and experience in full life cycle application development projects is highly desirable 
• Must have ability to work independently on projects or part of a team on larger, complex projects. 
• First Data front-end and back-end acquiring host systems as well as the channel relationships is a plus.
• Human factor engineering, heuristic evaluations and user acceptance testing for and client based applications as well as metrics setting and monitoring designed to assess usability
• Must have good communication and written skills
