Detailed Job Description:

Under general supervision, responsible for script development, integration, and validation of video backend systems. As a member of the team, you will develop, implement and execute test plans, help with escalations from the field, and create and maintain related documentation.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
• Participate in the overall planning and design of the testing environments
• Work with other team members and engineering groups to identify hardware and software testing requirements
• Perform system - wide end-to-end integration and regression testing
• Document results and review with designated teams or vendors as needed
• Work with vendors and video engineers to resolve issues discovered during testing; develop and document workarounds where possible, and assist operations team with implementation and escalations as needed
• Participate in Operational handoff review activities
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
• Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment
• Ability to learn new technology quickly
• Ability to use personal computer and software applications.
• Intermediate Data Networking Knowledge (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Networking)

Ability to work in a team environment.

• Knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology
• Knowledge in Video On Demand systems
• Knowledge in Switched Digital Video systems
• Intermediate knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operations
• Intermediate Knowledge of basic network devices and basic network appliances
• Intermediate knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of Linux variants and command line interface (CLI) usage. Bash and/or Python scripting
