- 2+ years of Looker specific BI Architect experience
- Strong proficiency in LookML development
- Experience in agile software development, git-enabled version control, and CI/CD
- Snowflake & MySQL query dialects and database architecture
- End-to-end product knowledge of Looker
- Understanding of advanced Looker concepts: SQL-based & native derived tables, access grants, liquid variables, user attributes, Looker API
- Strong proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and business intelligence tools
- Experience embedding Looker into custom applications
- Experience with Looker Data Actions and using the Action Hub
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Comfortable in presentation settings with senior level leaders
- Ability to demonstrate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability and desire to take initiative and identify gaps in an implementation plan
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment and stay calm / collected
- LookML Developer Certified
Job Responsibilities:
- Driving LookML model architecture best practices & query performance optimization
- Translating business requirements into LookML implementation strategies
- Implementing reporting objectives in LookML & Looker dashboard development
- Knowledge leader for SQL, including window functions, cluster keys, partitioning, and analyzing queries
- Independently developing Proof of Concepts (POCs)
- Designing and developing best-in-class end user experiences through LookML, Looks, and Explores
- Communicate directly with clients in a technical or non-technical capacity
- Act as a technical subject matter expert for business users
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives from initial communication through completion
