Detailed Job Description:

  • Design of Chassis and Electrical components for EV Bus.
  • Coordination of supplier parts and client manufactured components.
  • Assure that designs meet SDS (System Design Specifications). Develop new product design specifications as required,
  • Work with styling and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
  • Support prototype builds and launch at client facilities and Vehicle Operations Assembly Plants as required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Requirement gathering and Analysis.
  • Assist in developing conceptual engineering designs and implement engineering changes.
  • Detail design for Chassis components for buses.
  • Packaging of various Electrical components (TMS, EVM, HVM, Compressor, Motor etc)
  • Design and packaging on various electrical subsystems
  • Creating digital mockup, schematic drawings and engineering drawings for electrical harness routing and packaging
  • Identify opportunities to improve products quality and reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, assembly methods, product design, & quality control standards.
  • Support engineering release of parts, drawings and assemblies in 3DX and PLM.
  • Use past experience on conventional buses to communize and standardize parts on EV buses with conventional buses.
  • Perform Root cause and failure analysis.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve design efficiencies & cascading the same to design team.
  • Review and validating the tooling changes for the new changes suggested by the Quality engineers as part of industry best practices.
  • Follow up with vendor progress to assure adherence to schedules and timelines, if needed change methodology as necessary to attain objectives within time and best cost.
  • Assist manufacturing engineers and participate in testing of products and processes for the part changes.
  • Assist in interpreting engineering drawings & work instructions for production and manufacturing process.
  • Participate in Technical Design Review Meetings, Discussions, Department meetings, Supplier presentations.
  • Ensure that components meet SDS (System Design Specifications).
  • Evaluation of new concepts for engineering solutions.
  • Coordinating with stake holders within manufacturing like Styling, Stress, Manufacturing, and Operations.
  • Provide status update on the design work orders to the team & program management
