Detailed Job Description:
Responsible for designing and installing Pure and Netapp arrays, work with IT experts, application owners, identify storage needs.
Oversee software upgrades and management of storage arrays in a multi-vendor environment.
Work with vendors to POC new products and enhance capabilities of existing platforms.
Conduct account / project design reviews.
Support multi-vendor, globally distributed storage and data protection environment.
Advise the customer about performance management, availability management, configuration management and reporting.
Solution preparation for migrating different workloads onto standardized platforms, and consolidation particularly for remote offices. Advise the customer on Cloud vs on-premise solutions for storage.
SLA reporting, capacity trending and capacity planning for large, distributed environment running in Petabytes, and spread across globally.
Lead the operations team in best practices implementation, upgrade and migration methodologies, change and critical incident management procedures.
Identify, monitor, build and utilization report on the storage infrastructure using Storage Management Tools.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
10+ Yrs of experience as storage array design and migration projects involving Pure & Netapp. Certified implementation specialist for at least one of the storage vendors.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including staff at all levels of the organization including both technical and non-technical personnel.
Experience in project execution for storage migration projects involving DC consolidation
Vendor management experience for large environment.
Strong expertise in NAS and SAN based storage systems.
Strong experience with Cisco, Brocade SAN multilayer director class switches.
Extensive knowledge in NAS, ACLs, storage versioning, migration tools and methodologies for NAS
Extensive working knowledge about storage virtualization, cloud tiering, boot from SAN.
