Key Responsibilities:
- Leading & championing the benefits scope you will lead and motivate SMEs within your benefits to create a positive and creative culture for our people to perform well, learn and grow.
- Providing delivery leadership - Understand critical success factors for benefits and understand current and desired future business processes.
- Being a point of escalation your expertise will be leveraged to help respond to customer and project team needs with precision and efficiency. You will act as an escalation point for issues relating to an individual, team or project within the benefits capability.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement you will be responsible for leading and implementing process efficiencies, encouraging innovation in technology and process. You will also sponsor initiatives within your benefits capability or the wider Workday implementation scope.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete all required training
- Demonstrate and exercise knowledge of Workday functionality and navigation
- Act as a Lead for the benefits area workstream, by coordinating activities, documentation, sharing knowledge, and partnering with Accenture Consultants
- Play a key role in project workshops to identify opportunities for improvement, areas for standardization, unique variances, and potential differences in functionality
- Work with business to capture functional decisions for designated Workstream.
- Engage with Business SME(s) to understand key project functional/technical success factors, critical needs, and gather information.
- Facilitate decision making with the delegated business SMEs
- Provide information, documentation, and answer questions regarding previous implementation efforts
- Work with the Accenture Consultant in configuring the system.
- Coordinate with the Test Lead to ensure timely execution of testing, update configurations, and drafting of test scripts where necessary.
- Actively participate in knowledge transfer from the Accenture Consultant to ensure self-sufficiency to support issue resolution.
- Contribute to the change management implications of adopting the new standard business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional peers in identifying, understanding, and managing upstream and downstream impacts by configuration and business process decisions across all functional areas
- Collaborate with the Security lead to identify all security requirements (e.g., access needs to the system, security roles needed, as well as security groups needed) pertaining their functional area
- Participate in Workday Delivery Assurance reviews (if engaged by the State)
- Escalate issues to the Project Manager
Perform benefits lead responsibilities such as:
- Communicating business requirements
- Gathering reports and defining reporting requirements
- Validating architecture and design
- Identifying data to be migrated
- Mapping and cleansing data
- Validating data migrations
- Performing configuration
- Testing business processes and configuration
- Developing State-specific training and documentation
Minimum (essential) requirements:
- Significant experience operating as a Benefits Team Lead within benefits on large ERP, public sector preferred, Workday implementations.
- Exceptional understanding of Workday functional areas
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to delegate, motivate, lead
- Excellent customer management experience, working with business subject matter experts within State government formally present to senior and Executive levels
- Excellent skills in managing conflicting demands and performing effectively in complex and difficult situations, including negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management
- Ability to work with different functional & technical consultants to understand cross functional dimensions of Workday configuration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Sound understanding of the various roles and responsibilities on a project team across the different deployment methodologies
- Significant experience in benefits area represented
- Organization expertise of all processes within Benefits and impacts to other areas
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision-making ability
Preferred requirements:
- Awareness of the full Workday ecosystem
- Understanding of separate branches of government
- Evidence of innovating or leading initiatives to improve delivery within a team or organization
- Proven ability to manage, motivate and empower teams and lead by example
- Workday Professional Services Certification in HCM and/or Certification in Workday benefits
