Detailed Job Description:
- Develops program plan to include goals, objectives, policies and procedures following the grant requirements set forth by the Helmsley Foundation, which funds this program.
- Acts as the agency spokesperson on matters covering programs and services, may review state and federal legislation and its impact on this specific program area, keeps management informed of legislative, congressional and grant issues.
- Works to maintain and improve relationships with other agencies, community groups, other department components, and other state, local, federal, or Helmsley Grant departments in order to improve decision making capability and better implement services provided.
- Collaborates with other states selected to participate in the Helmsley Grant Law Enforcement Initiative to improve services provided, program direction and evaluation of program data.
- Serves as the point of contact for all Iowa Law Enforcement agencies participating or wishing to participate in this initiative ensuring they receive issued equipment, training, answer program questions, and provide guidance for sustainability of the program. Serves as the point of contact for the Helmsley Grant Foundation ensuring all grant requirements are completed and reported properly according to the grant outline.
- Collects, tabulates, and organizes Iowa Law Enforcement data collected by participating agencies surrounding a deployment of an automatic external defibrillator for data analysis.
- Completes any other associated work set forth by the Helmsley Grant Foundation or the departments management team surrounding this initiative.
