Must Haves:
- Must have in - depth experience in website search tools and website search audit or assessment.
- Must have a high level of proficiency in search assessment and architecture-level experience.
- Proven search assessment and architecture-level experience
- Extensive experience with search technology platforms, such as Bloomreach, Elasticsearch, Solr, or Algolia
- Experience in configuring and optimizing search engines within an e-commerce context
- Experience working in the e-commerce industry and a solid understanding of SEO principles and best practices
- Knowledge of keyword research, on-page optimization, content strategy, and technical SEO.
- Experience working with popular e-commerce platforms like WCS, ATG, SAP Commerce, Salesforce Commerce, etc.
- Understanding the search functionality and customization options provided by these platforms
- Strong project management skills to effectively plan, prioritize, and execute search optimization initiatives
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. The ability to collaborate with developers, designers, marketers, and product managers is crucial for successful implementation of search enhancements
- Experience in web analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics to track and analyze search performance metrics, user behavior, and conversion rates
- Experience in data-driven decision-making and A/B testing
Job Responsibilities:
- This person should have extensive experience in optimizing search functionality and improving the search experience on e-commerce websites and doing search capability/functionality assessment for ecommerce website and Consumer mobile app. This person will be joining a search team of 3 within the ecommerce IT environment.
- Analyzing the current state of the websites and mobile apps search capabilities, including search algorithms, relevancy rankings, filters, sorting options, autocomplete, and related features. Identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Evaluate the relevance, accuracy, and performance of search results.
- Analyze the usability and intuitiveness of search filters and sorting options.
- Conducting extensive keyword research to identify the most relevant and high-impact search terms for the e-commerce website and mobile app. This involves understanding customer search behavior and industry trends.
- Review the search analytics and user behavior data to identify patterns and insights.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as developers, designers, architects, marketers, and product managers to conduct workshops or interviews to identify the pain points and expectation. Communicating findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders
- Identify any gaps or weaknesses in the current search functionality.
- Analyze user feedback and complaints related to search features.
- Conduct benchmarking against industry standards and best practices.
- Evaluate the compatibility of search functionality with various devices and browsers.
- Provide detailed recommendations for enhancing the search functionality and overcome the gaps/weakness.
- Suggest improvements to the search algorithm including relevance and ranking.
- Propose enhancements to filters, sorting options, and autocomplete suggestions.
- Outline an implementation plan for incorporating the recommended changes.
